The Origin of our Name

Why "Famous Rivers"?

As military Foreign Area Officers we value the idea of traveling and learning from those experiences.  Nelson Mandela captured this same idea when he referred to the metaphorical idea of crossing famous rivers in some of his speeches.  We named our group The Famous Rivers Africa Group to both honor the life and work of Mandela but also to acknowledge the importance of continuous improvement and learning from those around us.
